Whether it’s a high school football game under the lights on a Friday night, a baseball game on a warm spring day, or a basketball tournament in a gymnasium, sports help us to grow both as people as well as athletes. The athletes inducted into the Sports Hall of Fame represent the very best of Hudson County. We have sent young men and women from our community to compete at highest levels of sport, be it the Olympic Trials, World Championship Boxing, the NFL, and the NBA. Our athletes have stood out wherever they have competed, making Hudson County proud. The selection for the Hudson County Sports Hall of Fame is about more than statistics. Being inducted into the Hall of Fame is also very much about the impact these remarkable people have had on the lives of those who competed with them, against them, or simply rooted for them. Records are meant to be broken, but greatness, once demonstrated, should never be forgotten.”
