Assistive Listening System
Assistive Listening technology systems are designed to help individuals needing auditory assistance or language interpretation overcome background noise, reverberation and distance from the sound source.
Our office offers a wireless FM system at our events upon request. Organizations are welcome to request the system for their events as well. Please see below for a full breakdown of the Assistive Listening System and request forms.

FM+ C Assistive Listening System
FM Transmitter
FM+ C is the first transmitter of its kind to offer an FM broadcast and Wi-Fi audio broadcast from a single input source. Whether using the FM+ C for assistive listening, language interpretation, or audio description, this “dual broadcast” technology gives users the option of listening to real-time audio stream on their smartphone or tablet using the free WaveCAST receiver app (iOS and Android) or use an available FM receiver from the venue.
The FM+ C has support for Telnet commands via an Ethernet port enabling AV professionals to control and monitor the FM+ C using third-party room control systems.
The FM+ C integrates professional WaveCAST Wi-Fi audio server technology into a Williams AV FM assistive listening system and integrates with third-party room systems. AV professionals can control third-party room systems with Telnet commands via Ethernet and end users can listen with either an FM receiver or with their own smartphone (via the WaveCAST Receiver App). Along with this flexibility comes exceptional audio quality, as the FM+ C is built on a professional digital audio (DSP) platform.
The FM+ C is designed to support those who want to use their own smartphones and headphones for a more discreet assistive listening experience. Simplicity is also available for those who want a more traditional assistive listening system with a dedicated FM receiver and headset. Venues no longer need to choose between providing FM or Wi-Fi assistive listening systems. FM+ C supports both the new iOS and Android WaveCAST Receiver Apps — in addition to all of the current and legacy Williams Sound FM receivers operating on the 72-76 MHz bandwidth.
Most settings can be changed via the front panel interface, or the hosted web interface. A remote programming guide is available upon request.
The FM+ C uses the WaveCAST app to provide an easy-to-use, intuitive user interface. It is available in iOS or Android. Listeners easily select channel and volume level once their personal device is connected to the Wi-Fi network. The app does not work on FM Broadcasts.
*Note: Firmware updates are currently unable to be completed on Mac computers.

FM R38 Receiver Kit (5 Available)
FM Receivers
The FM R38 is a multi-channel FM receiver with a high-resolution OLED screen. The receiver comes with earphones and batteries, but is otherwise identical to the PPA R38.
The R38 offers a quick view of receiver status and immediate entry to all user settings. On-screen channel selection with easy access to 17 pre-set, wide-band frequencies (72-76 MHz). Compatible with all Williams Sound 72-76 MHz wide-band transmitters. Digitally synthesized for exceptional audio clarity and stability. Digital tuning, digital squelch and battery saving sleep mode. New stereo jack paired with the mono jack adds compatibility with a variety of earphones/headphones. Rechargeable.

Safety Breakaway Feature
Integrated safety breakaway device. In the event the neckloop cord becomes entangled with a object in motion, the breakaway device will disconnect the neckloop from the user.

The cardioid (unidirectional) pickup pattern provides greater gain-before-feedback and isolation from ambient noise and other unwanted sound sources. A carefully shaped frequency response includes a voice-frequency presence peak and a low-frequency roll-off to compensate for the proximity effect inherent in cardioid mics during close-talk operation.
Pearstone PM-TRS 1/4″ TRS Male to 1/4″ TRS Male – Interconnect Cable
The 30 foot PM-TRS 1/4″ Male to 1/4″ Male Interconnect cable from Pearstone features Rean connectors with nickel-plated contacts on both ends, 24-gauge oxygen-free copper conductors, and spiral shielding to protect against EMI and RFI noise. Additionally, twin conductive PVC shields reduce electrostatic noise and provide a clean signal path while retaining good flexibility for those occasions that demand it.
